When To Write A Thank You Note

Proper etiquette is something we should all practice.

When should you write a thank you note?

• Entertains you at their home
• Does you a kindness
• Offers you an important opportunity
• You received a gift
• You were recently an overnight guest

By thanking people for their gifts and services, it helps you to become a well-mannered and gracious person. Sitting down and writing a thank you note by hand, in cursive is not convenient and does take more time than jotting a note by email, but the effort is worth it especially in this fast-paced electronic era. The receiver of the thank you note will feel special and know that you took time out of your busy day to think of them.

"Never think, because you cannot write a letter easily, that it is better not to write at all. The most awkward note that can be imagined is better than none — for to write none is the depth of rudeness."
